Ukrainian Studies for Strategic Disquisition non-governmental Analytical Centre, with the assistance of the State Enterprise ‘Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions’, invites you to participate in a presentation of the Ukrainian-English publication Map of Ukraine’s National Interests, which will take place on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, at 11:00 am at the GDIP Media Center Directorate located at 6-A Pyrohova St, Kyiv.
This book is the first comprehensive publication in Ukraine to holistically examine Ukraine’s foreign policy strategy and its relations with key countries worldwide through the lens of Ukrainian interests.
The ambitious goal set is not only to consider current threats and opportunities, but primarily to define what fundamentally constitutes the national interests at the global level and in each region of the world.
The book is the result of the XIII Bandera Readings 2026, which brought together experts and scholars, representatives of a dozen think tanks, former and current diplomats, and public advocates of Ukraine abroad. Representatives of the expert community, many of whom are direct participants in the war, are already shaping Ukrainian foreign policy and providing recommendations to state bodies.
During the event, the following topics will be discussed:
- Ukrainian interests in the world and in specific regions;
- Priorities of Ukraine’s foreign policy;
- The Ukrainian worldview in the 21st century.
The compilers and co-authors of the publication will take part in the presentation:
- Yurii SYROTIUK, president of the Ukrainian Studies for Strategic Disquisition non-governmental Analytical Centre, People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VII convocation, Chief Sergeant of the Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 5th Separate Assault Kyiv Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- Yurii OLIINYK, PhD in Political Science, Director of the Ukrainian Studies for Strategic Disquisition non-governmental Analytical Centre, serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- Natalia BUTYRSKA, visiting senior fellow of the New Europe Center, an expert on East Asia;
- Oleksandr CHUPAK, Head of Economic Programmes at the Ukrainian Studies for Strategic Disquisition non-governmental Analytical Centre, translator of the book;
- Maksym YAKOVLIEV, PhD in Political Science, Head of the Department of International Relations at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Director of the School of Political Analytics (online);
- Yehor BRAILIAN, PhD in History, member of the British Association for the Study of Ukraine (BASU);
- Mykola VOLHOV, Researcher of the North-Western Caucasus, political technologist, founder and head of the POLITCONSULTANT.org political consulting agency.
The event will combine offline and online modes of participation.
